Looking for an all-in-one industrial concrete contractor? You can end your search here: TexCon has been serving industries in the Houston area since 2004, with clients as elite as Exxon and NASA.
Types of industrial projects we work on include:
We provide concrete for all kinds of industries. One of our most popular products / services is industrial concrete floor installation. Factories, warehouses, laboratories and elite workshops all have specific needs when it comes to flooring. Not just any old concrete floor will do. Often, these industries require floors that can withstand heavy loads without cracking while also holding up well to spills and resisting stains.
The Latest Concrete Technology
That’s why we combine the latest technology in creating strong concrete, including both reinforced and prestressed concrete. Reinforced concrete contains layers of steel mesh and pieces of rebar to provide tensile strength. With prestressed concrete, the tensile strength is applied through external pressure and held within steel cables in the concrete. Both options provide the durability necessary for industrial concrete construction, but one may be more advantageous for your company’s specific purpose or budget.
Full Service Concrete Installation
We also do not walk away from our concrete projects after the concrete has been poured. With TexCon, you can trust our concrete experts to create even, level and smooth concrete that has been properly mixed and handled to reduce cracking. Another way we reduce cracking is via special attention to the curing process.
Curing is a controlled drying process in which the concrete is kept consistently moist and at an appropriate temperature to avoid rapid evaporation. Sudden changes from wet to dry conditions creates the perfect breeding ground for cracks, and over time cracks can heave and become trip hazards, or they can bring moisture to the steel reinforcements inside the concrete, resulting in crippling deterioration.
All in all, we know the integrity of our work reflects our own integrity, and we stand by our commitment to creating the strongest, most durable and longest-lasting concrete structures for our clients. Once an industrial workplace is up and running, it can be costly and a hassle to shut down in order to repair or replace a poor-quality floor. You want to make sure you get exceptional quality right from the get-go. We hold ourselves to the same high standards you would expect from your own employees: do the job well and with careful attention to detail.
Our Process
It all starts with our site evaluations and line-item receipts that tell you exactly what you’re paying for with no hidden fees. This level of transparency continues throughout the installation process, where we keep you informed of our progress. We perform thorough site preparation to be sure our concrete is poured over stable, sturdy and level ground. The importance of this step cannot be overlooked, since it is yet another key factor to reducing the incidence of cracks in concrete.
For new constructions, site prep involves removing the loose, less stable top soil, grading and sloping the area around the building site to ensure proper water drainage, tamping down the area to avoid settling that can cause heaving and sinking in the concrete, and laying down a subsurface (typically gravel based).
Then we prepare the concrete molds and lay down rebar, steel mesh or steel cables. Then the concrete is poured. The carefully chosen concrete mixtures have admixtures suitable for industrial use, and these admixtures give the concrete special properties that make the concrete cure faster or remain easy to spread during installation, for example.
After the concrete is leveled and cured, we can add a final finishing touch to protect your investment: an industrial concrete floor covering. Usually an epoxy finish, these floor coverings spare the concrete from stains, scratches and other damage by providing a thin but durable top layer. They can also add a decorative element to what otherwise might be a bland floor, although clear coats are quite common.
Concrete With Both Brawn and Beauty
Speaking of decoration, if your factory or warehouse has an office, lobby or showroom where clients and the public may visit, we offer decorative flooring services too. Often not the top priority for industrial concrete clients, decorative concrete is nonetheless an affordable and attractive option for these less heavy-duty areas of your building.
Decorative concrete can even be as simple as a terrazzo epoxy finish, which gives the look of mosaic tile in various colors. In other words, you don’t need to worry about hiring one company to handle the industrial floor and another to handle the office floor. Although they may have different specifications, the TexCon team provides a variety of services and can handle both aspects of your project.
